We are writing to inform you that due to unforeseen circumstances, there will be a short delay to the publication of the live assessment briefs for the non-examination assessment units in the Level 3 Health and Social Care: Principles and Contexts qualification suite.

For 2023/24, the briefs for the following units will be published on the secure website from Friday 29^th September 2023:

• 4973U1 Principles of care and safe practice within outcome focused person-centred care
• 4973U4 Understanding how the human body is affected by common conditions
• 4973U5 Supporting individuals at risk to achieve their desired outcomes
• 4973U8 Supporting the health and well-being of adults in Wales to achieve positive outcomes

Whilst the assessment briefs are normally published on the first Monday in September, assessment should not be attempted by candidates until all teaching and learning for the specific unit has been completed. The delay to publication should therefore not impact planned teaching and learning activities.

Sample assessment materials are available to support teachers to prepare their learners for assessment. Please note, some sample assessment materials on the health and care learning Wales website include an abridged version of the mark scheme, where the indicative content would provide learners with model answers for set tasks. Full versions of the sample assessments including the full mark scheme are accessible from the WJEC secure website.
